The Altered dawn of the Ultimate Weapon: The Drone

The drone, instantly listening to the word what comes to your mind? Probably be the latest picture of the drone you might have seen on any online platform or remember Ranchhoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad/Phunsukh Wangdu (Rancho in short) flying the drone in the movie 3 Idiots or might be in real life. But if we talk about how you see the picture of the drone (not how it looks but more of in what way you see it), what comes to your mind? You may think of its uses in the food/courier delivery, security purposes, video shooting, etc.,

But, ever came to your mind what purpose it was invented for?

The UAV-Unmanned Ariel Vehicle cum drone, an unpiloted or remotely piloted aviation device, was first tested during the First World War in March 1917 and 'Kettering Bug' was the first American craft that flew in 1918. Its initial objective was to use it for sting operations or spying, However, not used during the war. Firstly, they were made as balloon-like structures when the Austrians attacked Venice in the mid-1800s involving some bombarded attack. In India, drones were first used in 1999 during the Kargil war.

The Recent Scenario

The facilities that drone technology serves are the main factors making it demandable in the current scenario. It has always been the finest mode of technology in the defense sector as it helps in missions like sting operations without any harm to the personnel. It is assisting the disaster relief force and the traffic police with a lot of features and technologies. And it doesn't stop here, the mapping, thermal imaging, video-shooting, entertainment, or any sort of inspection include in its facilities.

But after the 1990s, the phase we are experiencing well, let's consider after 2010; it somehow has the potential to change the way we live now. And the giant companies have started working on that change. The e-commerce platform, Amazon is considering delivery through drones.

India and the Drone-tech

India already has many companies ready to supply the latest and finest high-tech drone. And not only that, but India already has its own government company, the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Indian government is considering giving the agricultural sector a hand using the drone technology. And the Adani Group announced to acquire approx. 50% stake in the same. The first Drone Mahotsav was recently organized by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation on 27-28 May 2022. Almost 70 participant companies exhibited their high-tech designed models.

Drone technology has successfully set its foot in the global market. 5-10 years as of now, there will be no area/sector left not using the same.

Conclusion

With the pros of technology, its cons exist simultaneously, and the drones are no exception. But besides all the qualities and advantages it does have what are the possible cons it could have? Can it be a threat to the general? Well, we’ll leave it to you to tell us in the comment section, till then happy readings.
